OLD TOWN and NEW TOWN AREA - 4 HOURS
“It is not real! It is a fairy tale!” How many times I have heard these words… But it is real ancient architecture of the spectacular
Old Town Square with its medieval houses, spires of churches, monumental monument of Czech national hero Jan Hus, and of course, the famous
Astronomical Clock! I always say to my guests: Not to see this clock working it means, you haven’t been to Prague! But the
Old Town is not only
Old Town Square. There are dozens of narrow cobbled streets, noble palaces, churches… You can admire art nouveau
Municipal House next to a gothic
Powder Tower, as well as the oldest still operating theatre in Prague, where W. A. Mozart conducted his opera. And very next building is 14th century
Charles University!
New Town offers you above all the
Wenceslas Square; this place witnessed both Russian invasion 1968 (so called Prague Spring) and the end of communism, our Velvet Revolution. I was there as well to welcome a democracy we had been waiting for forty years…
You can see here also impressive the
National Theatre, a golden- roofed building overlooking Vltava river. You can have a coffee in some of Prague traditional cafes, to take a picture of modern Frank Gehry’s
Dancing House and to learn some amazing stories from the WWII nearby.
There are some interiors recommended to visit during this tour, but I will leave it up to your preferences. We can discuss it during the tour. When visiting interiors, tour will be longer. I recommend 6 hours.

Unless having walking problems, or if not being under the time pressure, I highly recommend to take in Prague walking tours only. Many highlights of Prague are accessible only for pedestrians anyway and we do have here in Prague very elaborate system of public transport.
